Yet, from the moment we arrived, they treated us as friends and were extremely gracious and hospitable. Kevin and Jillian know how to throw a party. And a really good looking one as well! With a herculean effort from Blissful Events by Abbey, I think their vision for the wedding day came together really beautifully. There were some pesky rain showers that came through the area at an inconvenient time, but almost everything else was perfect. The bonus of the rain showers was being able to even more fully incorporate and capture the different elements of Jillian and Abbey's wedding design. We had a great summer evening for Scott and Kayla's engagement session in Iowa City. Scott was right at home in his old University of Iowa stomping grounds, as he saw at least 3 acquaintances while we were walking about downtown. Connor and McKenna kept things pretty simple for their wedding day, with everything happening within a 1-mile stretch of Coralville, Iowa. (Again, simplicity of location is very underrated on wedding days!) We started the day getting ready at the Coralville Radisson, which is also where the wedding reception was held later that evening.
