Due to the nonsense of the COVID pandemic, we had to break Adam and Brittany's engagement session into two parts. They were really needing to get out some save the dates for their wedding and wanted to do a basketball theme around that. So we ventured out in the thick of the pandemic earlier this spring, and then got together again recently on Adam's birthday to finish things up. READ MORE

We were blessed to be able to share in Aaron and Alyssa's wedding day this weekend by documenting the pretty awesome event with what we think are some pretty awesome photos. :) When they set to planning the event over a year ago, what took place this past Saturday was not exactly what they had in mind. Right in the heart of the COVID pandemic, when we were at the height of social gathering restrictions, Aaron and Alyssa had to make a call on what they were going to do for their wedding two months out. I made the trip to Des Moines for Jacob and Amber's engagement session recently, and we made the most of a cloudy, drizzly, spring day. I still love shooting clouds at sunset (see below). We started the session at the Des Moines Art Center's Rose Garden, but the flowers were about a week away from exploding into full color. Again, we made the most of what was available to us, and I think everything still turned out great! :) We will be visiting the Rose Garden with Jacob and Amber again in a matter of weeks. At that time, Amber will be wearing a white dress, instead of black one like she did for these photos. Here's hoping for brilliant flowe ... READ MORE

Kenny and Kelsie's wedding day was what every wedding should be—a joyful celebration that tied together a cord of three strands forever. The Lord was at the center of their day, which is always an encouragement for us to witness and document. It was visibly obvious that these two were just so darn excited to get married. Kelsie was an absolutely radiant bride, and it was fun to capture the personality of these two on their big day. You never know what a winter wedding is going to look like in Iowa because of the unpredictable weather. We were fortunate the week around Christmas to have a heat wave sweep through, and Kenny and Kelsie were a ... READ MORE
