I really enjoyed getting together with Matt and Mackenzie for their engagement session in Kansas City! These two are originally from southeast Iowa and made the move to Kansas City after school, just like Kara and I. It was a really nice fall day and we started the session at was a crazy busy Loose Park. For the second half of the session, we traveled about 40 minutes east to Lake Lotawana for some epic photos that I’m really excited about. We were the only ones around there, so the contrast was easy to appreciate! Don’t ask me whose boat they are in, but it sure is beautiful, isn’t it?? Matt’s coworker deserves a special shout out for chauffeuring me around in another boat so we could get just the right angle of them on the water. I’m sure I was bossy as usual. I hope the vibe in the photos is as serene as what we experienced while we were out at the lake. There was literally no wind, so the water was just like glass, and the sunset that rolled in was unbelievable! The only bad thing about our time out there was that my camera’s circuit board failed, but that’s why you carry a backup, right? It only cost me some anxiety and extra effort to run frantically back to the car to get another camera.
