Matt and Jessica’s wedding was on a beautiful, early February day in downtown Kansas City. Their ceremony was at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (AKA KC Gold Dome) and the reception was at one of our KC favorites—Terrace on Grand. Even though it hasn’t been long since we shot our last wedding, every time the calendar year changes, it seems like we begin afresh with a new sense of purpose and ambition. This was the first wedding we shot in 2016 and we’re going to really be putting an emphasis on shooting creatively and looking at things from new and unexpected perspectives. I’m so excited about shooting and seeing what this new year holds and it was fun to get after it for Matt and Jessica’s day! The guys looked awesome in their navy suits and Jessica had that dress with the furrr. You could say the whole church was lookin’ at herrr. We spent the early morning hours getting ready at the President Hotel downtown and then made our way to the church, where Matt and Jessica had a first look with each other right before the ceremony. Afterwards, we walked a bit around downtown for some photos and also made our way over to the West Bottoms to capture a more urban look for some of the photos. We finished up our portrait time at the ridiculous rooftop at Terrace on Grand with a panoramic view of downtown Kansas City. It was amazing as usual! The reception was a lot of fun and it capped off what was a lovely wedding day. Jessica and Matt, thank you so much again for choosing us as your photographers and giving us the opportunity to creatively document everything for you. We wish you guys all the best!
