Mark & Michelle got engaged only 4-5 months ago, but they (along with Mom’s help, right?) put together a beautiful wedding on New Year’s Eve that was really a treat to shoot. What an awesome way for friends and family to ring in the new year! Their reception was at the fabulous Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Kansas City. The venue was circular room on the 28th floor that provided an amazing view of the city’s New Year’s Eve festivities. Since they also got ready there, we were able to take advantage of some of the city’s downtown character too. Well, as long as Michelle could stand it out in the freezing cold anyway. I suppose 30 degrees with a little wind could be worse in the middle of winter (this coming from the guy shooting in a sweater). I remember shooting last year at almost the exact same time and the high for the day was -2. That said, we’ll take 30 with no complaining. 🙂 That’s what the lovely couple did too, and I’m so thankful that they were willing to brave the cold outside for even just a few minutes. It was such a delightful day and I hope you guys will be able to look at these photos for years to remember your best New Years ever.
Meanwhile, Mark had to get all sexy.
Then they looked at each other, smiled and said “It’s cold as hell out here!”
Michelle, you look stunning in that dress. . . Especially in black and white.
That’s just a flood light that decided to get magical, I guess.
It was totally unintentional, but I love the vignette in this photo that kind of captures both the inside and outside environments.
Happy New Year!
The very last shot of the night, that I just love.
Thanks for letting us be a part of your day, guys! May you enjoy a lifetime of New Years with love and happiness.
