The Big Day: Dan & Nicki’s Wedding

Weddings

I like the 10-day forecast on weather.com. In the days leading up to Dan and Nicki’s wedding, my affinity for the 10-day forecast reached an all time low. We checked it daily as the threat of rain seemed like a possibility for this particular Saturday, but the forecast literally changed everyday from rain, to no rain, and then back to rain. Well, the day came and it rained. Hard. Fortunately we were able to get a portion of the day shot before it precipitated. The rains came basically right after the ceremony was over and endured for the rest of the day and evening. Our imagination was put to the test in the second half of the day. We were challenged to find killer backdrops within your typical mundane, dimly lit church with classy flyers plastered all over the walls. My favorites are still the umbrella shots, of course done outside.

This is a scenario that photographers dream of. Thank you guys for at least being willing to step out into the rain. It was SO worth it. I think this is stunning.

Toward the end of the night, Dan stole the mic and tore through the lyrics of “Ice Ice Baby” with the greatest of ease. There are some hilarious photos from those 4 minutes. Here is just one.
